Forssan yhteislyseo is looking to welcome more motivated international students to its student body of 400! The school currently has students from countries such as Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Iran, and Singapore.

Forssan yhteislyseo will accept a maximum of 15 students for the autumn of 2027.

This site is intended for applicants from outside the EU who are required to pay tuition fees.

Forssan yhteislyseo offers:

  • a friendly and encouraging atmosphere
  • diverse study opportunities
  • many courses offered by the adult education centre (evening classes)
  • For more information, visit: https://forssanyhteislyseo.fi/in-english/
  • The school assists in finding accommodation (rent approx. €350/month).

International students from the school go on to succeed in further studies. For example, out of eight students from the spring 2025 and spring 2026 cohorts, two were admitted to Aalto University, three to Tampere University, and one to the University of Turku. All eight secured a study place!

Admission criteria:

  • Good academic performance
  • Demonstrated motivation and readiness to study in Finland and Forssa
  • Guardianship: Students under the age of 18 must have a guardian in Finland, or guardianship rights must be assigned to the school principal.
  • Students with strong aptitude in the respective fields are selected for the music track, visual arts track, and sports academy.

Steps:

  • Arrange a Teams presentation with Principal Simo Veistola as soon as possible (simo.veistola@forssa.fi).
  • If you are interested in Forssan yhteislyseo, submit an application via the Opintopolku portal: link.
  • Tell the principal that you have filled out the application form.
  • An interview will follow (October–November), during which a selection decision may be made. You do not need to know Finnish at this stage, but you must demonstrate how you plan to learn the language.
  • The final selection (provided the required language proficiency has been achieved) will be made in February 2027.
  • After this, the tuition fee of €10,000 is to be paid to the City of Forssa’s account. The annual tuition fee includes teaching, a leased laptop, a school lunch, and exam fees.
  • Subsequently, the high school will send a new letter of acceptance confirming that the tuition fee has been paid.

Feel free to apply to Forssan yhteislyseo. If you would like more information, I can also provide the contact details of current students if needed!

Yours,
Simo Veistola, MBA and PhD, Principal, simo.veistola@forssa.fi
